Hi Ness
I can use beech then but i was thinking to have the doors to a thickness of around 2.5 cm max . The rest can be 3.5 cm . The top moulding around 10 cm height . do you have a moulding model that can fit the type ? The plint around 6 cm height . Panel thickness in the doors 1.5 cm. I also have add some wooden figure on top of the glass . I guess these needs to be cut and glued on the glass ?
You main job is building stairs ? Mine Also . I started this year my own business and also still working full time for a company called atlas copco
thanks for the help in this

Hi Michel,
It looks as if Polyboard should work fine for your project.
the best is to set up a project with 4 different elements, plinth, bottom unit, upper unit and cornice moulding.
I’ll try to set you up a template so that you get and idea of how to go about it.
In my opinion beech would be a good choice, if well seasoned beech is easily stable enough.
What sort of material and thicknesses will you be using?
All the best,
Ness

Hi Ness ,
here is just an example of the type of cabinet i need to make . It needs to be with 4 doors on the top with glas and 4 on the bottom full wood . The design should not look antique but rather strait shaped . A bit mix of modern and country style . I guess beech is not the best to use because it is not such a stable wood when the thickness is restricted to a max of 2.5 cm or am I wrong ?? the cabinet needs to be painted black and have some shelves on the upper side . . The top plint can be like the picture . And no carvings at all in the cabinet.
it needs to be 230 cm wide and the heigth is 220 cm . The ration top and bottom is 2/3 top 1/3 bottom . I guess a deoth of 45 cm should be enough for that kind of cabinet . Maybe te bottom side needs to be a little deeper ??
You said polyboard can be usde with another dxf program . I have the autocad program but only the free version of polyboard . Hop you can help to get me started with it

Hi Michel,
Polyboard can be used to design more than just sheet materials.
You can also mix Polyboard with other software via DXF to design solid wood cabinets and other things.
Could you send me some more details on what your your project should look like so that I can see the best way to go?
All the best,
Ness

Hi Ness ,
I got a demand to build a book cabinet of 220 cm lenght and 230 cm height with upper part existing of door with glas and shelves and a lower part out of doors full wood and shelves . they want it black painted . Is there any possibility to draw this in polyboard software as this is not plated material . Do you have any software for that kind of build ?
