Hi Jack,
To answer your questions:
1. What can I do to load from 5.0 to 6.0 without the textures/tints changing?Use the same textures files, in the same location on disk for both.
2. Is there a resource that lists “how to” use basic commands: i.e. copy/paste?
We have this forum and on line videos. As a Premium member you can ask for a mini-Team Viewer session and I’ll show you how to use specific commands.
We also have training packs where we can spend time looking in depth at how to use the program.
For copy/paste you can only copy/paste panel structures. You select the panel with the structure, then right click.
A context menu will appear, select “Copy the Structure” . Select the panel you want to paste to, right click and select “Paste the structure”.
You can see this in quite a few videos,eg:Using Quick Design Panels Structures Libraries on the Quick Design Advanced page here:
https://wooddesigner.org/suppo…..-advanced/
or even in the Opticut video here:
https://wooddesigner.org/optic…..-software/
There’s also no problem to quickly show you how to do this in a Team Viewer session if necessary.
3. Definitions, i.e. “exchange faces”, yes/no in fitting lengths.
I’m not sure what you are referring to here, do mean “fittings links”?
In this context “exchange faces” puts the hardware on the other face of the panel.4. Can I add a panel between a thickness split?
In the Thickness split command you can click the ADD button and create as many thicknesses you want.
Once created you can change and edit each panel separately.5. Can hardware images (hinges, handles, pulls) be added to a design?
Yes see “Quick Design 3D Accessories” video on the Quick Design Advanced page.
Sorry we don’t have any printed manuals.
All the best,
Ness
HAS THERE BEEN A CHANGE TO STARTING A NEW TOPIC ON THE BLOG? CAN’T FIND ON MENU.

Hi Jack,
If you made this file with Polyboard 6 lite you can’t open it in Polyboard 5.
If you need to work on it to add elements not included in Lite you have to open it in Polyboard 6 free version.
As you can’t have 2 installs of Polyboard 6 on the same computer you have to have it on another computer.
If you know a project will require using functions outside the scope of Polyboard 6 Lite you should build it fully in Polyboard 5 demo and then open with Polyboard 6 lite only to get the cutting lists.
Polyboard Lite is meant for only simple shaped panel furniture, as you can see workarounds are possible but do require some organisation.

Ness:
added pantry to poly 5.0 awhile back; not realizing I could not finish the design in lite. I wanted to add surface splits to the door center panels to illustrate building them as boards/slats and place some hinges on the doors. I now realize I need to complete the ENTIRE project in poly 5.0 before opening in Lite.
Is there a way to open the attached file in poly 5.0?

Hi Jack,
The problem is that Polyboard Lite doesn’t allow you to make structures so all the “structure edit” options are greyed out.
The way to get around this is to build the project in a demo version and then open in Lite to get to get the cutting lists.
It’s also possible to do limited editing and still get the cutting lists.
As it’s not possible to install 2 demo and activated Lite v6 on the same computer if you only have one computer, I suggest installing v5 demo on the computer with v6 Lite. This make it easy to design special items with the demo v5 then open in v6 Lite to get cutting lists.
Hope this is helpful,

Ness
I attach you project with the frame doors you should be able to open in Lite.
Michel, Ness:
HELP!
I am using Polyboard 6.04e Light.
Finally able to add doors covering a complete surface of shelves by deleting shelves/adding doors and re-adding the shelves.
I have re-reviewed “Using Quick Design Bars Tutorial” and “Using Quick Design Panels Structures” and others, many times.
Tried to add framed doors multiple times with NO success:
a. I have NO “structure edit” option appear in the menu.
b. NO “assembled pieces” option.
c “Panel Structure” in the menu is inactive.
d. NO “assembled pieces” option.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? I was able to add framed doors in Polyboard 5?
I also viewed the Split Materials Tutorial and tried with no results.

Hi Jack,
You just need to update your version.
You then will be able to open any project made with the demo versions in your Polyboard Lite.
All the best,
Ness
