Hi Michael,
I changed the first step in the step shape feature. You can activate this by selecting the steps in the view menu. Select the step and double click on its shape and you will enter the edit mode. You cannot show the volute on top of this step.
The riser is not yet following the step shape so this is manual work.
The base rail can be made with adding a stringboard and change its dimensions. I added it.
When you add a second landing after the landing step from the stair it will push down the first landing ( stair landing step). You can click on it and rectify the height back to the original floor height. This will flat out the additional landings.
I manipulated the handrail also in the edit mode. Same as with the step but then you select the handrail. You can correct the shape and make it continuous with the balustrade.
I also offset the handrail on top of the cut stringer so that the banisters are placed inside the stair volume.
Is this what you need?

Michel

Hi Michael,
I just send you an email

Hi Michel.
I’m wondering if you could help with a job I am doing. The stair has no newel posts so is what I would call a continuous handrail job. It has a square bullnose and square curtail step at the bottom, which I do not know how to draw i’m afraid.
So the handrail begins on the bottom step and follows the profile of the step around (this is not a problem if it cant be done on stair designer) and then carries on up the cut string stair up until the landing at the top so the handrail will ease up onto the landing to a height of 1000mm from the platform.
So my questions are;
Can I manipulate the “Add a landing” feature so the gallery can be drawn on one level? As when I add the landing, it adds a riser that I dont want.
Can I show a base rail on the gallery?
Can I show the handrail as continuous?
Can I show the bullnosed and curtail bottom step? If so can I show it with the handrail volute?
I have tried to upload a jpeg of a hand sketch to better illustrate the handrail , and then a pdf of the same sketch but its saying the files are too big.
If you can help with any of these questions, I would be most grateful..
Thanks
Mike
