Hi,

>by “block grain match” you mean perfect grain? This feature is only available from OptiNest and OptiNest can only export in DXF,

>We can try to do PB-PP training to create update PP to export hops format for BetterNest,

and I thinks in hops Format , it is better to use Milling, Multiline mode for groove, and there will no longer be this uncontrolled return movement

It’s not possible to start from center

All the best, Alex

Hi,

Some information to get you started

* You can find typical information of how to use from this Post, explained fro biesse but equals for others format

* We don’t have documentations about macro writing/coding and can only provided by NC-Hop, and depending your CNC

But to start you can using DirektNC-HOPS, you must have ‘MACRO” folder into Direkt NC-HOPS software folders

* You don’t have access to Horizontal drillings setting option for Hops, but well exported

for example

BOHRUNG (34,462,15,-14,10,0,0,0,0,0,0,0)

HORZB (562,112,9.5,8,-21.5,0,0,180,0,0,0,0)

As you have Nesting machine, they can be send to another PP to obtain files machining files,” Super PP Export”

Information from this link below

>Using PolyBoard and OptiNest for second face part by part and edge drilling

Sorry but I can’t find any files attached, can you try to send it again or per mail at support@wooddesigner.org REF Files for Alex,

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex, today I received another bad news from Holzher. I bought the Betternest (nesting program) but I am not able to do block grain match. And I have some questions:

1. If I pay, is there a way you can create for me a post processor to export hops files? Because is no other way to make the groove right with dxf file. If you can do it can you please let me know how much will be?

2. Do you think there’s a way to start the groove from the center? If there is, maybe we can fix the groove.

Thank you,

Marius

Hello Polyboard Team,

After months of struggle, we finally received an official answer from the Holzher team. The DXF rotating groove operation is not supported; the DXF macros they have are only for sawing.

Therefore, we have changed our manufacturing process to NC-Hops. We are now nesting the parts directly on the Holzher machine. However, we still have a few limitations and need some assistance to understand how to use macros with Polyboard, specifically with the NC-Hop PP.

Could you provide us with guidelines on how to start? We are willing to write some macros once we understand the functionality.

Goal:
Export NC-HOP PP using the Macro option instead of the Standard option.

Attached: The PP settings and the Polyboard macro folder for NC-Hops.

What we need to start:

  1. Examples/documentation on how this process works.
  2. Guidance on how to write these macros. Should they be .hop files?
  3. Understanding of what can be achieved using this method.

Our limitations:

  • No horizontal drilling option for NC-Hop PP, which is needed to differentiate between parts with and without dowels.
  • Our labels have a QR code, but we cannot filter the exported .hop files because there is no information coming for horizontal drilling.

If there is any way to inject additional data into the NC-Hops files at PP export, that would work as well. On the CNC side, we see all the hop fields and can apply logic to any of the fields and the relevant information.

We appreciate your help!

Thank you!
