Hi Miloslav,
You can do either. Personally it’s easier and faster for me to use standard dowels, biscuits or domino tenons.
I have a dowel making jig that I use to make dowels for scrap wood for specific applications mainly antique renovation when the dowels have to be in a specific wood or a very special diameter.
This works really well but it much quicker to cut from standard dowels.

Hi Mivosh,
At first glance, here are a few of the things you should adjust :
– to not expose the step housing, the strings should be set to over pass the first step
– you should include a landing step and house the last step and riser into the string and posts.
– if you are using tenons to assemble you need to set tenon thickness or I would suggest don’t use tenons and use bolt and dowels.
– step housings are 30mm deep, these should be set to 15 to 20mm
Hope this is helpful.
Please consider buying a StairFile service for a more indepth revision and have access to all the plans and manufacturing documents.

Hi Miloslav,
I attach the cutting list.
Please note that your stair has several errors that need adjusting before you start building it.
To get all the manufacturing documents please buy a StairFile here:
https://wooddesigner.org/membe…..discounts/
With our StairFile service we will verify all the details of your project to make sure that it is buildable and fully optimised before you start cutting wood.
All the best,
Ness
