Making straight step on winder tread|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER
October 4, 2012
Hi Lawrie,
This is an original idea, technically I would think that it will work but I have no idea if it complies to building regs.
All the best,
Ness
Hi. New to forum with a interesting project I’ve been thinking about for a while.
I have a kite winder where we are adding a new landing that will step onto the winder. I hope to add a straight tread at the widest part of the kite winder to step up into that landing and stairs continue upto the first floor. Trying to avoid making a landing where the existing winder is as this will push the bottom stairs further into a hallway. I add a picture to explain the idea. Happy these additional steps will have min. tread and rise for building regs just wanted to gather others opinion.

Any advice on building regs or adding this feature? thanks.
