Hi Conor,

I’m posting a DXF post processor that I’ve set up from the DXF files that you sent.

Can you load this post processor into Polyboard using the Import option :

import-pp.pngImage Enlarger

Then load into WoodWop to see what happens.

To finalise we will probably have to have the right tool numbers and I’ll also need the tool diameters.

To get the panel thickness into WoodWop from Optinest you’ll have to manually set the Optinest Panel export layer to PROCPART_22.

all the best,

Ness

Hi Conor,

The minus is set in Polyboard pp options.

Can we do a quick Team Viewer session to have a look at your settings?

Cheers,

Ness

Yes that would be great, thanks.

I’ll email you to arrange the time.

Hi Conor,

In the DXF setup for  Optinest to WoodWop, the Outline layer is set by default to “V_Fraes_-T136”.

I’m not expert in WoodWop DXF names, but I’m guessing that “V_Fraes” means a milling operation and “T136” is the tool number on the machine.

The “-” means the thickness of the material. Polyboard will replace with the actual thickness and the “-” is added before this number. So I would suggest that you delete the minus and just leave the layer named “V_Fraes_T136”.

Give this a try and tell us what happens.

Cheers,

Hi Ness, thanks for replying.

Changing the layer name doesn’t have an impact on the minus position

The minus issue happens from optinest to cad before I go near my woodwop post processor.

When I take a cabinet from polyboard to optinest and then DXF export the DXF file opens in Auto cad below zero by the thickness of the material.

Is there a setting in optinest for DXF export, what do I do.

My concern is somebody doesn’t notice this and at best breaks a cutter and at worst destroys the bed of the machine.

Thanks Conor

Hi Conor,

In the DXF setup for  Optinest to WoodWop, the Outline layer is set by default to “V_Fraes_-<e>T136”.

I’m not expert in WoodWop DXF names, but I’m guessing that “V_Fraes” means a milling operation and “T136” is the tool number on the machine.

The “-<e>” means the thickness of the material. Polyboard will replace <e> with the actual thickness and the “-” is added before this number. So I would suggest that you delete the minus and just leave the layer named “V_Fraes_<e>T136”.

Give this a try and tell us what happens.

Cheers,

Hi all, I am brand new to Polyboard and Optinest so forgive me for a barrage of questions that are bound to come up in the near future.

I use a Weeke Vantage nesting machine, when I export my Optinest to DXF and then bring it through my post processor (BBP5) it opens in WoodWop with a my thickness being a minus dimension.

So my panel that is 19mm in polyboard would cut through my spoil board by 19mm.

Any ideas?

Regards and thanks,

Conor
