Hi Terry,
Sorry this is my error, I should have explained at the beginning of each video that tooling (hardware) display has to be turned on to see it.
By default it is on and I never think about it except when doing big cabinets with “regular 32mm drilling”. In this case Polyboard has to calculate so many holes my computer slows down and it’s very useful to be able to turn off the hardware.
Any way thanks for the note and sorry for the extra struggling it caused you.
I’ll put up a notice on the hardware video pages.

My laptop nearly ended up in the fire tonight. Id followed a previous video and then this one and fittings were just still not showing up. I was beginning to think I was a bit thick!…….it turned out an hour later when Id nearly given up that in the 3d menu at the top that my toolings had been ‘turned off’ not sure if the program defaults to this or wether I may have done that ages ago and not known what it was. Anyway I was just about to give up and now the fittings are showing.
Might be one to watch for the future

Hi Terry,
Here’s a video that I made for Jim that might interest you.
It shows how to set you a hardware fitting that’s a notch in the side of the cabinet sides to install Blum Grooved profiles.
Although it’s only for making the notch it shows the general principles of setting up hardware and rules so it could be helpful to you.

Hi Terry,
No problem.
I’m planning to make a few videos on hard ware fittings and would like to set up some standard fittings that you’ll be able to download and use.
My problem today is that we are moving house and workshop, so with running our new websites and still finishing off jobs that are on order before I close and transfer my workshop to it’s new location, is giving me lots of overtime.
But I have certainly put your request a my to do list for as soon as possible.

I did follow one video on adding screws etc and I know polyboard doesn’t display the screws just the holes. Ive tried to set things up
with screws but they dont show up. When you get time would you be able to show a more in depth video of adding things like screws and hinges such as blum cabinet hinges. Its not overly important as I can easily work it all out when Im machining etc but its just good practice in the workshop to have the plans so you can quickly and easily see at a glance which panels have clearance holes etc. i just do 3.5 mm clearance holes on MDF carcase work and I always use 45mm spax torx screws without and pilot hole in receiving board. and I always use Blum clip top hinges so Id like these things to open as a default on every cabinet I open and when I add doors.
Thanks Ness if you can give me some help on what should be a simple thing for me……but sometimes I can waste an hour or two trying to work out something even as simple as this.
