still having problems with deco end panels|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Please ignore that…….Ive worked it out.
You can adjust the width once you’ve dragged the end panel into your project.

Ive tried creating a single cabinet for an end panel that I can then drop into my project. The dimensions I want are 2200 height 600 depth 18mm wide
It won’t let me create a cabinet. Its unhappy I think about the 18mm width. Ive also tried removing top bottom side parts
just to leave one board but it still won’t play ball as it still won’t accept 18mm width?

The simplest way is to add end panels in “project mode”. Build you libraries with an end panel element and just clip it on.
You can over size for scribing as necessary.
When you get the hand of mixing cabinet editing with project mode assembling cabs you can do some very neat things very fast.
As all software packages it’s difficult to automate everything everyone needs, there are so many different ways of working that make up a fantastic store of creativity in our craft, but does make making software a hard and on going task.
It’s true that once you have some software you have to adapt to it, like buying any new tool. But when you get used to it’s way of working you can’t live without it.
I am trying to give some honest feedback on the software. I do feel that these are areas where the software could be improved.
It feels sometimes that (although there is a workaround to most problems) the software is not that intuitive from the cabinet
makers point of view in a few minor areas and feels like its a huge mathematical equation piece of software (which I’m sure it is)
It’s a bit like the plinth thing…….it feels over complicated to do certain (not many) things that for the guy building it he would just
take for granted. I suppose what I’m trying to say is that in just a few areas it doesn’t feel like the software ‘holds your hand’ and
guides you…….you’ve got to work it out, which as we all know is time consuming.
I suppose in a ideal world you would highlight end panel of carcass and it would come up with option “add end panel’
you could then tell it the dimensions and indeed any oversizing for scribing and it would just add it.
Its not a criticism as I love thew software………but an observation on certain aspects.

Further to a recent topic regarding adding end panels. Ive tried both methods suggested and here is my feedback.
On adding an inner upright this then messes around with my preferred joinery under passing etc which may I’ve tried to
correct but is a bit of a faff.
With the split thickness board command it won’t allow me to adapt the outer part of the split board to come down past the plinth
or take up above the carcass.
Both of these methods (even if you can advise me how to get them working) seem quite clunky?……..were only talking about
adding end deco panels here.
Is there an easier way to add them in the project view as add on components. I would also like them to be slightly wider in depth
and taller in height for scribing to the floor and wall say 5mm each way.
