Wood Designer forum
Hello Everyone!|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER
Hi Christopher,
Thank you!
I think I know exactly what you mean. PolyBoard is getting part of my life by the hour for the same reason. Indeed, Ness is very helpful as I have already experienced and Stefan too, as I have read here in forum articles.
I definitely do feel to be at the right place. I am excited to have a look at your home bar article. I’ll read it through.
Do not feel out of place. We all love wood (and MDF and the things we can create from it. And I learn new things every day, too, like all of us. It is quite a big thing to build your own home bar. Very well done! Now you can admire it every time you see it and show it off to friends proudly.
For me it is a little bit different. I’m also in love with all my creations but I can only admire them for a few minutes, half an hour after I finish them. Then I have to leave and can look at them again only through my photos. But it is still a lot of fun. I love to make them for those few moments of admiration and for the smile on the face of my clients.
Cheers,
Frank
Welcome Frank!
Knowing that you are an experienced woodworker by trade, I feel a bit out of place in putting in my $0.02, but I wanted to let you know that I (being an extremely novice, almost non-existant, woodworker) could not have dreamed of starting to build my very own, high-quality, home bar build (as detailed in this Welcome section of the forum) without PolyBoard and the great assistance of Ness/Stephan and their membership.
You’ve definitely found the right place/software!
Cheers (from Canada),
Christopher
Hi Terry,
Thank you!
I am from a bit higher up, East Grinstead. But I have some clients down in Hove and Brighton. This year I’ll try to focus more on the region north from me.
Indeed, PolyBoard is a fantastic bit of kit. The more I use it the more I like it. I used other software in the past, imperial default units and face frame based from the US but it just drove me crazy and stole my evening hours from my family for too long until I gave up on it on a project where I was not able to come up with the drawing of a sloped wardrobe for underneath a stair case after a week of trying everything. Not that the software was not able to do it, it was just too complicated for every bit of panel.
I have read some of your posts already and saw that you are sourcing your cut materials from South London. I wish we could find a supplier somewhere closer. Do you know any in Sussex?
Best wishes,
Frank

Hi Frank, Nice to meet you

Hello Everyone,
Frank here from Sussex. I am a cabinet maker by trade and have been doing it on an off in the last 20 odd years. I do it as full time tradesman for a while now. I love building beautiful things and always wanted to find a good design software which is easy to use and fits my methods without having to bend them. I found PolyBoard a very well thought-out software and easy to use (just tried it a few times in the last few days) and I appreciate every effort that have been put into it so far to bring it on along with the training videos and this forum. It seem like the whole system Ness has put together is going to be a tremendous help for lots of woodworking enthusiasts and professionals alike. Can’t thank enough for it. And I am happy to be part of the community!
Looking forward to sharing, brainstorming here on the Forum and designing/building with the help of PolyBoard.
Thanks again,
Frank
